Zeina Kanawati
The director of the film, is a Syrian journalist living in Prague, who moved there in 2015.
After two visits to Berlin, she was amazed by the Syrian community and how they managed to adopt in a very short time in a place that is very different from where they come from.
Knowing that Syrians survived long and brutal wars throughout the history of the country, they built an ability to revive after every war and they created their own special way in healing and rebuilding the culture over and over again.
Zeina wanted to document the first step for Syrians, who got the asylum in Germany by immediately becoming productive members of the society.
After long observation and research, Zeina found that Syrians are recreating the memories of their homeland in Germany, and they are rebuilding the community that was destroyed by the injustice of the bloody situation in Syria, by providing each other the promise of peaceful and harmony for generations to come.
